Weekend Recap

Hey friends! Happy Monday! How was your weekend??? Mine was okay, nothing special. :-/

Friday I had a dance party that was themed mathletes vs athletes. Since I was a cheerleader in high school, I went the athlete route.

That was my old cheer uniform! That is my friend Maria who was dressed as a mathlete. I think I like dressing up in costume too much for my own good!

The rest of the weekend wasn’t as exciting as I anticipated, but that’s life!

Delicious wrap!! This baby was a La tortilla factory tortilla with a 100 cal pack guac, black beans, crumbled tempeh, and Cholula! It was seriously amazing.

Best thing you ate this weekend?

Ouchies

Hey besties!! Before I get started, I need to talk about a little boo boo that happened last night! Sometimes getting hurt is unavoidable.(or you’re just a klutz like me!) So last night me and the roomie/cousin went to yoga, then decided to take a dip in the hot tub after! Obviously after swimming I showered, and this is where things went downhill. Getting out of the shower, some how the bottom of the shower door cut my foot open! Thankfully the wound wasn’t that bad. There was just a lot of blood which really freaked me out!! Luckily we were able to make a makeshift bandage with paper towels and packing tape. I know we are just that cool.

Moving on…..

I am one of those people who HAS to have dessert after dinner…well last night was no different.

Breakfast

I have to say I used to only really enjoy hot oats. I had a couple bad experiences with overnight oats, and they just didn’t tickle my fancy. It’s all changed, I am addicted and nothing with stop me from eating this for the next 3483094 mornings!

The night before I mixed:

  • 1/3 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 Tbs oat bran
  • 1/3 cup plain 0% greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Chia seeds and stevia

This morning I just topped it with some more almond milk and White Chocolate Wonderful peanut butter. I am seriously obsessed. Dare I say I may like this more than hot oats??

Lunch

The other day while shopping I came across something interesting….

I have to say, I really enjoyed it!! I’ve always been obsessed with chili so this is a good healthy alternative. I would have liked it a bit more spicy, but you can’t have it all!

Well I am finishing off my day at the store then tonight I will be dancing. Nothing to make me happier then a night of dancing!

Missed you!

Hey loves, I missed you!! I am SO SORRY for disappearing from blog world for a week!! It was a crazy week and made me realize how much I really love blogging and all of you!! Fiesta stuffed spaghetti squash. (recipe coming soon) This was one of the best creations I have ever made, to die!! Each half is about 300 calories, perfection!

I had a moment of craving and decided to try Baked pickles!! I guess this is my take on fried pickles! I have seen a lot of these on blogs before and decided to recreate them for me and the roomie!

Amazing weekend & Arbonne Essentials

Hey party people!!! I know you have been dying to know where I have been the past four days…just kidding!! Moving on…..I wanted to tell you that Sat I had the most amazing Cinco de Mayo themed party!!! I threw it with my friend Lauren at our dance studio, and it was a blasty!! Sadly, I only have on picture to show from this glorious night!

So the awesome people over at Arbonne Essentials sent me some awesome samples to review!! How sweet!! My loot: Energy fizz tabs, detox tea, protein shake mix, and energy chews!!!

I was so excited when I got this I had to try some things right away!

The pomegranate fizz tab was SO GOOD! The flavor was a little vitaminy (is that even a word?) but I really enjoyed it. I don’t know that I was more energized, but it did suppress my appetite a bit, which it was supposed to do! I have also tried the chocolate energy chew which was really tasty. I can’t wait to try the rest of the products!

P.S I bought a Groupon deal for Yoga Works, so I will be getting my Yoga on for the next month!! So excited!!

My first WIAW!

Hello my friends!! It’s humpity hump day!! I have been wanting to partake in the what I ate wednesday party for a while, but never got the chance to do it!! Well today is the day I do it, so lets get started!! (This is really more like what I ate tuesday because it’s only 10:29 AM over here!)

Breakfast

I started my morning off with a delicious omelet!! This was an egg white omelet stuffed with goat cheese and topped with guacamole. Doesn’t get much better than that!!

After breakfast I headed to the gym in my complex for a one mile run on the treadmill and then a 25 min elliptical sesh! I have been trying to incorporate more stretching into my everyday routine because I really need to keep my flexibility up for my dancing.

Lunch was a salad monster!! I love me some salad monsters!! (Sorry this is a recycled pic, but it’s the same salad!!)

I tried the tomato basil Kay’s protein puffs!! These were AH-MAZ-ING!! I will definitely be ordering these when my stash of samples is up!!

After work I was hangry so I had another snack!!

More Kay’s!! I tried these cookie bites and was not really a fan. It tasted more like dry cereal than cookies. It was still good, but it wasn’t at all like cookies.

Dinner

Dinner was a chicken, veggie, and rice bowl!! I made an amazing sauce by mixing soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, siracha hot sauce, and agave. It was amazing!!

My cousin cooked the chicken on the panini press, and I roasted the veggies and made the sauce, it was a match made in roommate heaven!


Dessert

I’m not sure if you know this, but I HAVE to eat dessert every night, it’s not a question in the Hungry Dancer house!! I ate a chocolate vita-top smeared with White Chocolate Wonderful, I know you are drooling over this!!

I finished the night with some aloe vera H2O and some un pictured tea!

What was the best thing you ate Wednesday??

Goodbye April, Hello May.

Hello friends!!! Thank you SO MUCH for all the amazing comments on my dance competition!!! I worked really hard to get where I am in the dance world and it’s awesome to know you guys appreciate that!! Moving on…

Yesterday I ate one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had!! I went shopping with my friend Lauren, and after we were hungry so we went to this grill place in the mall! I went with the spicy chicken breast sandwich!

I got mine with a side of garden salad. That focaccia bread was baked fresh for every sandwich! It was definitely the best part!

This salad monster included: Butter lettuce, a mixture of tempeh and salsa, 100 cal pack guacamole (!!!), and fresh pico de gallo!! So good, so filling!! Tempeh and salsa is an amazing pair!

I also was beyond excited because I got a package from Kay’s Natural!!! They make amazing protein snacks and were kind enough to send me a bunch of samples to review on the blog!!

These are Chili Nacho Cheese Protein chips!! These were amazing!! The only thing I didn’t like was that for a small bag it had 1.5 servings. I wish it had been a one serving bag but it was still amazing. Each serving is 110 calories and has 10 grams of protein!! If this is any sign of how the snacks taste, I am going to LOVE all of it!! More reviews to come!!

Goals for May:

  • Lose 6 more lbs
  • Train even harder for my next dance competition
  • Workout at least 5 days a week (not including dancing)
  • Eat less processed food

Emerald Ball 2011

Hello lovelies!!!! Yesterday was the BEST DAY EVER! No really…it was!! If you remember I have been preparing for my dance competition, and it happened!! It was an incredible day so lets recap!

6:15 AM Wake up starting getting my hair and makeup done by my cousin.

7:30 AM Leave for the Hilton hotel by LAX airport.

8:15 AM Arrive warm up for first dance heat.

After I finished my single dances I headed home for a few hours before coming back for my scholarships. Scholarships are when you are judged for three dances at once as opposed to each single dance. You also have the chance to win some $$!

I competed in two scholarships and took 1st place in both!!! I can’t put into words how happy I was!!!
