Amazing weekend & Arbonne Essentials

Hey party people!!! I know you have been dying to know where I have been the past four days…just kidding!! Well if you didn’t notice I was absent from blog world this weekend and in truth, I was just enjoying life!! I don’t like to blog on the weekends….so I don’t. It’s my blog I’ll do what I want :)! Lets start the recap though. Be prepared for lots of food, and lots of fun!

Moving on…..I wanted to tell you that Sat I had the most amazing Cinco de Mayo themed party!!! I threw it with my friend Lauren at our dance studio, and it was a blasty!! Sadly, I only have on picture to show from this glorious night!

So the awesome people over at Arbonne Essentials sent me some awesome samples to review!! How sweet!! My loot: Energy fizz tabs, detox tea, protein shake mix, and energy chews!!!

I was so excited when I got this I had to try some things right away!

The pomegranate fizz tab was SO GOOD! The flavor was a little vitaminy (is that even a word?) but I really enjoyed it. I don’t know that I was more energized, but it did suppress my appetite a bit, which it was supposed to do! I have also tried the chocolate energy chew which was really tasty. I can’t wait to try the rest of the products!

My first WIAW!

Hello my friends!! It’s humpity hump day!! I have been wanting to partake in the what I ate wednesday party for a while, but never got the chance to do it!! Well today is the day I do it, so lets get started!! (This is really more like what I ate tuesday because it’s only 10:29 AM over here!)

Breakfast

I started my morning off with a delicious omelet!! This was an egg white omelet stuffed with goat cheese and topped with guacamole. Doesn’t get much better than that!!

After breakfast I headed to the gym in my complex for a one mile run on the treadmill and then a 25 min elliptical sesh! I have been trying to incorporate more stretching into my everyday routine because I really need to keep my flexibility up for my dancing.

Lunch

Lunch was a salad monster!! I love me some salad monsters!! (Sorry this is a recycled pic, but it’s the same salad!!)

I tried the tomato basil Kay’s protein puffs!! These were AH-MAZ-ING!! I will definitely be ordering these when my stash of samples is up!!

After work I was hangry so I had another snack!!

More Kay’s!! I tried these cookie bites and was not really a fan. It tasted more like dry cereal than cookies. It was still good, but it wasn’t at all like cookies.

Dinner

Dinner was a chicken, veggie, and rice bowl!! I made an amazing sauce by mixing soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, siracha hot sauce, and agave. It was amazing!!

My cousin cooked the chicken on the panini press, and I roasted the veggies and made the sauce, it was a match made in roommate heaven!


Dessert

I’m not sure if you know this, but I HAVE to eat dessert every night, it’s not a question in the Hungry Dancer house!! I ate a chocolate vita-top smeared with White Chocolate Wonderful, I know you are drooling over this!!

I finished the night with some aloe vera H2O and some un pictured tea!

Goodbye April, Hello May.

Hello friends!!! Thank you SO MUCH for all the amazing comments on my dance competition!!! I worked really hard to get where I am in the dance world and it’s awesome to know you guys appreciate that!! Moving on…

Yesterday I ate one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had!! I went shopping with my friend Lauren, and after we were hungry so we went to this grill place in the mall! I went with the spicy chicken breast sandwich!

I got mine with a side of garden salad. That focaccia bread was baked fresh for every sandwich! It was definitely the best part!

This salad monster included: Butter lettuce, a mixture of tempeh and salsa, 100 cal pack guacamole (!!!), and fresh pico de gallo!! So good, so filling!! Tempeh and salsa is an amazing pair!

I also was beyond excited because I got a package from Kay’s Natural!!! They make amazing protein snacks and were kind enough to send me a bunch of samples to review on the blog!!

These are Chili Nacho Cheese Protein chips!! These were amazing!! The only thing I didn’t like was that for a small bag it had 1.5 servings. I wish it had been a one serving bag but it was still amazing. Each serving is 110 calories and has 10 grams of protein!! If this is any sign of how the snacks taste, I am going to LOVE all of it!! More reviews to come!!

Emerald Ball 2011

Hello lovelies!!!! Yesterday was the BEST DAY EVER! No really…it was!! If you remember I have been preparing for my dance competition, and it happened!! It was an incredible day so lets recap!

6:15 AM Wake up starting getting my hair and makeup done by my cousin.

7:30 AM Leave for the Hilton hotel by LAX airport.

8:15 AM Arrive warm up for first dance heat.

After I finished my single dances I headed home for a few hours before coming back for my scholarships. Scholarships are when you are judged for three dances at once as opposed to each single dance. You also have the chance to win some $$!

I competed in two scholarships and took 1st place in both!!! I can’t put into words how happy I was!!!

Prepping for Competition

Hello friends!! How’s your thursday going?? I am sorry for being MIA yesterday, between work and competition prep, I never made it to the computer!! The horror, I know! I am thrilled that you all loved my new competition dress!!! I am obsessed with it, and it mean the world that you loved it too!

Today I wanted to talk about competition prep. I know a lot of you have watched Dancing with the Stars and see all the crazy outfits, hair, and makeup. Well as much as a competition is very different than DWTS, when it comes to appearance it’s pretty much the same! So let’s get to it! The week of the competition is crucial and looks a little like this:

  1. First thing I have to do is get my eyebrows done. This is serious business, you’re hair is slicked back and your face better be perfect!! Not to mention stray eye brow hair drives me INSANE!
  2. I throw in a couple extra dance lessons. You really need to be ready to get on the dance floor and practicing your routines over and over again is a way to get there.   
  3. SPRAY TAN! Remember when I went spray tanning for my last competition?? This will actually be happening today. It’s the best when you finish and see yourself in the mirror and don’t know who you are. HAHA
  4. The day before (tomorrow) I will be getting my nails and toes done and then taking my final dance lesson!! This is crunch time baby!

This is all just preparation for the big day!! I can’t believe I’m competing on saturday!! TWO DAYS AWAY! If you want to know more about the competition I’m doing you can check it out here!

Remember when I got that awesome package from Chobani?? Well when I moved in with my cousin Sara, I found out she was eating Fage greek yogurt. I told her she had to try Chobani, so she did and she’s hooked!! I told her that Lemon is the best flavor but we still haven’t been able to find it!

I bought the Hamilton Single Serve blender from Target yesterday!! It’s not amazing but I like that you can just make you’re smoothie and go! Less clean up time!!

New Competition Dress

Hey there!!! First of all, my cousin wanted to thank you for all the birthday wishes!!! She really appreciated it. How is your day going?? I’m at work now, but last night I got my new competition dress!!!! If you don’t remember what my old one looked like you can check out my recap from my last dance competition! I had this dress made for me and it came out PERFECT!!! It’s always nerve wracking getting a dress made for you, but it turned out amazing!!

Look at the detail on the skirt and belt!! I am beyond happy with this dress!! I still can’t believe my competition is on Saturday!!!! Wish me luck??

Breakfast

My breakfast this morning was to die for. If you don’t know already, my food gets me very excited!!

Do easy, delicious, and filling! If you haven’t figured it out yet, you may realize I DON’T post a lot of complicated recipes, my eats are always fast, easy, and pretty healthy! It’s just how I roll.

I also went to his new bagel shop one of my customers told me about for some iced coffee!! I’m obviously a coffee addict, so when she told me they used REAL iced coffee cubes, I was in!

I got the roasted hazelnut iced coffee. The real iced coffee cubes are genius, the coffee never gets watered down!

I’m not a big fan of frozen meals, especially Lean Cuisine. But there is one that I can’t resist because I love it so much. It would be the tortilla crusted fish. I know it’s full of “fake” food, but it’s delish and I will eat it if I’m being lazy and I want it!

I had to obv eat it with some fruit to feel a little better 🙂

Weekend Recap & Happy Birthday Sis/Cousin

Hola!! Happy late Easter/Passover or whatever you celebrated!!! I missed you all this weekend, but you know I was still stalking your blogs! ;). So instead of blabbering lets recap, because there is a lot!!!

Friday

Friday I was off work!! I had a dance lesson and then I went to lunch with my Mama. I danced again at night, then went to karaoke after dance with my friend Lauren. I love karaoke, do you??

Eats…

After a morning elliptical sesh, I was craving cereal!! Enter Kashi Go lean Crunch and almond milk!! Hit the spot!

For lunch we went to the little cafe in Saks Fifth Avenue!! It’s one of my favorite lunch spots in Beverly Hills!

They start by serving you these warm flat breaks with a olive spread. SO GOOD!

So delicious!! Hungry Dancer health tip: Always order dressing on the side to avoid tons of excess calories!! I like to do the dip and eat. Dip the fork in the dressing then go for the salad! This saves you tons of extra fat and calories!

Dinner ended up being an easy peasy wrap!

Saturday

If you didn’t already know, I work EVERY saturday! No joke. So of course it was a work day. Let’s just skip the day and move on to night time!! I stopped by my fav store Trader Joe’s after work for some essentials and ended up with this creation for dinner.

Gnocchi with feta and brussels sprouts!! My best friend Jamie came over so I cooked this for her two! She gave it two thumbs up!!

We followed dinner with a dip in the HOT TUB then a trip to get yogurt!!

Sunday

We don’t really celebrate easter in the Hungry Dancer household but we did have a celebration because it was my cousin Sara’s 23rd birthday!!!

Her real birthday is actually today, Monday the 25th!! Happy birthday Cousin!!!

To celebrate, we obviously had TONS of food!! Look at these snacks!!

For our dinner it was hotdog and hamburger style! My cousin had requested Chicago Style hot dogs, and since I am NOT a fan of hot dogs, I went with a turkey burger!

Hungry Dancer tip #2: If you have a fluffy bun, scoop out the inside of the bread to save some calories! I had a turkey burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion! Don’t fret I added more….

Speaking of the Birthday Girl…...

Sara and I grew up like sisters. We are both only children and our moms are best friends!! We did everything together for our entire childhood!! I feel so lucky to have her in my life as a cousin, but even more as a sister! We both know that no matter what happens we will always be there for each other and have each others back! There is nothing more important in life than family.
